Beta Testing Notice

Participation in the beta will enable automatic collection of performance and diagnostic data.

Effective Date: April 1, 2022

The Craft Experience is developed by Twin Cities App Dev LLC and is available exclusively on the US App Store®.

Privacy Consent

We want to keep things simple. By using The Craft Experience you consent that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

We access different types of data to provide you the best experience. We will never ask permission to access more data than the app requires to deliver the best craft experience to you. The Craft Experience uses many on-device intelligence features to run our app. We believe in full transparency and outline what data we access and record in detail below.

Personal Information

You do not need an account to use the app, but some features may require that you sign into your iCloud account directly in the Settings app on your device so we can save things in the cloud like your favorite breweries, brews, brewery visits, etc.

Profile Data

In the app, you can enable a feature of iCloud called "Look Me Up". This allows other users of the app with your information in their Contacts app to discover you and see your first and last name.

That's it for now. More "Social" features will come in the future and when they do, our Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect them.

Device Data

We access device data that requires permission from you to power our on-device intelligence features. You will be asked to grant us permission to certain device capabilities and hardware.

Siri Integration

The application integrates with Siri if you set it up. To find out what you can ask Siri about The Craft Experience, check out the feature in the app. We do not access or use any Siri data or voice recordings, it is all handled by the operating system. When Siri tells us you asked about a brewery, that is as far as it goes.

Notifications Preferences

The application can send you notifications when you enable features like "nearby brewery notifications". Your notification preferences will be saved privately in your iCloud account if you're signed in to mirror them across your devices.

Location Data

The application is very location-aware but all processing happens locally on your device. When you grant us access to your location we use it to determine what breweries are nearby and to show your location on the map in our nearby functionality. If you choose to, you can have your location-based brewery taproom visits saved to your private iCloud. This lets you keep track of which breweries you have been to and when.

Consent Data

We record your consent to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for our records and yours. For more details please contact us.

Application Performance and Diagnostic Data

With your permission, we will collect application performance and diagnostic data for the purposes of improving the application experience. This features is opt-in but recommended for any user who wants to help make the app better. Our performance and diagnostic data is powered exclusively by an Apple technology called MetricKit.

Performance Data

The performance data will be used to ensure our app is developed and maintained in tip-top shape. Examples of application performance data includes but is not limited to:

  • Application Launch and Runtime Metrics
  • Battery Metrics
  • CPU and GPU Metrics
  • Memory Metrics
  • Network Condition Metrics

Diagnostic Data

The diagnostic data will be used to identify and fix bugs, hopefully before your users run into them. Examples of application diagnostic data includes but is not limited to:

  • Crash Diagnostics
  • Hang Diagnostics
  • High Disk and CPU Use Diagnostics

Information Sharing

Your profile data including your first and last name may be shared with other users of the app if you opt-in to the feature. This is described in greater detail in the Profile Data section above.

Other than that, we do not share any of your data with anyone. Everything that you save is stored on device and in your private iCloud account.

NOTE: As requested by users like you, we are already hard at work building a sharing feature. This would allow you to choose where you save your data, either to your private iCloud storage, or shared iCloud storage with other users you invite. When this feature goes live, we will make an update to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Data Privacy, Security, and Retention

We believe in the right to data privacy and data security by design. That's why we have chosen to use iCloud technologies to host our app data, and more importantly, save your private data. All of your data is saved privately by default. All of your data is protected by Apple. Your app data is sandboxed in your iCloud account listed under "Craft". Your data will be retained in your iCloud account as long as you want it to be. Want to delete it and need help? Refer to the Contact Us section and get in touch and we will assist you.

Analytics and Advertising

The Craft Experience does not do advertising within the app, period. You will see news and updates in the app from breweries that you have subscribed to or marked as your favorite. What you see is all determined by your preferences and computed locally on your device and in iCloud.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

The Craft Experience is built from the ground up with privacy in mind. As technology changes, so will our Privacy Policy. When updates are made to our Privacy Policy, you will be notified in the app. If you do not consent to the new Privacy Policy, discontinue use of the app.
